Role: Software Engineer, Contract
Location: Atlanta, GA; Remote

About the Role:

As a Software Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and qualifying the Pivot Originals platform. We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer who collaborates well with cross-functional teams and has a strong desire to automate tasks. Responsibilities:

  • Program/develop and modify software systems, applications, and tools for a streaming platform operating on iOS and Android devices.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  • Document application and feature specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot application code-related issues and actively participate in code reviews.
  • Engage in project planning sessions with cross-functional team members to ensure projects meet business objectives.
  • Develop automated tests for features and systems.
  • Operate with a focus on SDLC best practices.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in working with WordPress.
  • Experience with AWS Lightsail, LAMP stack, MongoDB, and Node.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs.
  • 2+ years of experience in the software development space.
  • Test-focused with a passion for developing solutions to improve team efficiency.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to advise on product direction.
  • Eagerness to learn web technologies used on embedded devices like Smart TVs, Gaming devices, and mobile applications.
  • Nice to have: Understanding of networking and web browser technologies (REST, WebSockets, SSE, pubsub, etc.), and experience with TDD using testing frameworks (Chai, Mocha/Jest, etc.).

Compensation:

At Pivot Originals, we are committed to fair compensation practices. This role currently pays $45/hour in total compensation. Your specific compensation will be determined based on various factors, including your previous experience, skills, and location.
